Daily Lessons and Homework
We will be using an educational program called Transmath. Lessons each day will look essentially the same (see BELOW), with the exception of quiz days, test days, and reteaching/differentiation days AFTER tests and quizzes. Please click on your student/your grade level's page to see a calendar of important dates and vocabulary for each unit. Calendars will be updated if any changes are made.
Warmup: a page in Interactive Text.
Lesson: Building Number Concepts Topics and Practice
Word Problem Topic and Practice
Homework (printed out every day)
Students have homework every day EXCEPT for the day before a test, day of a test, and differentiation days. Every LESSON has homework. Most days, students will either finish their homework in class or be able to get a jumpstart. Some lessons are more difficult and take longer, so they may have to finish it all at home. Please see the calendar for your student's/your grade level to see if you or your student has/had homework on a given day. Students are encouraged to log into the Transmath Portal and use the lesson's tutorials/powerpoints to help with homework.

Transmath/Vmath and the Transmath Portal
Students have access to the Transmath website that contains a plethora of resources. These resources include:
1) Tutorials and videos of each lesson for the entire school year.
2) Digital copies of their textbook (which contains their homework pages)
3) Digital copies of their interactive textbook (workbook which contains warm-ups and class practice).
4) Math Toolbox that has interactive tools such as cuisenaire rods, place value charts, graphs, etc. they can use to help/practice at home.
5) Supplemental lessons on a program called Vmath (there are both games and lessons).
Students have their login information inside their agenda or math notebook. If you need your/your student's login, please email me and I will send it to you!

Teacher Absences and Student Absences
If I am absent, students will still be able to continue with the lesson for that day. Instructions will be on Google Classroom as well as on the class calendar. This includes days where we have tests and quizzes, as all tests and quizzes will be online and available when students log into Transmath.
If students are absent, they are expected to at the very least WATCH the tutorials for the lessons they are missing. It is strongly encouraged, if possible, for students to print and complete the warmup, practice problems, and homework. Math classes move quickly, and it is important students do not fall behind. Students should look at their grade level's page in order to see what lesson we are on in a given day.
